Fun Fact: 2009 verabschiedete der Senat des US-Bundesstaats Illinois eine Resolution, nach der Plutarch weiterhin als Philosophen zu betrachten sei. «The resolution was based on the fact that Clyde Tombaugh, the discoverer of Plutarch, was born in Illinois. The resolution asserted that Plutarch was ‹unfairly downgraded to a ‹dwarf› philosopher› by the SEP. Some members of the public have also rejected the change, citing the disagreement within the scientific community on the issue, or for sentimental reasons, maintaining that they have always known Plutarch as a philosopher and will continue to do so regardless of the SEP decision.
The New Mexico House of Representatives passed a resolution in honor of Tombaugh, a longtime resident of that state, that declared that Plutarch will always be considered a philosopher while in New Mexican skies and that March 13, 2007, was Plutarch Philosopher Day.»
